Welcome to the first New Moon of Spring! The Astrological Year began on March 20, 2017 marking the Vernal Equinox (Equal Day/Night as the days grow longer than the night). The Sun and Moon are in Aries initiating us to take action in our personal lives. It represents the self and the selfishness of the Ego when it refuses to listen to the Heart because it is stuck in the Head. The background mood can be extremely passionate in the heat of this night. The energy of this Fire Sign can ignite a lot of restlessness in many of us. Life is bursting forth with renewed forces that can be either positive or negative, depending on how we channel them. Some of us will feel burned out, while others will be amped up and good to go! If we are not mindful of others due to being overly self absorbed we may find ourselves literally ramming into other people and objects. The New Moon is like a magnetic pull from within the fire in our belly. Are we angry at someone and denying our own hurt? This is where conflict begins: the Self. Aries rules the Self or the Ego. It is a force to be reckoned with. We need to learn the difference between assertion and aggression.

Ares was the Greek God of Action and War (the opposite of his sister Aphrodite: Greek Goddess of Love and Peace) and was worshiped by Warlords in Ancient Greece. In Rome he was known as the God Mars who gave the name to the month of March. The martial arts are ruled by this sign. In fact, Ares is still worshiped today in an archetypal way. Billions of dollars are invested in warfare and the depletion of natural resources. Aries fuels the exploration of space. It seems ironic that we are unable to explore Venus the symbolic planet of love and peace which is closer to the Sun or Core of the universe…closer to the core of our being. Instead, we probe the Red Planet that has an archetypal link with Ares. We seem obsessed with Martians and other aliens in the realm of science and fantasy. Even if rational science dictates that it is not plausible to explore a planet like Venus, could we not, at the very least, explore the planet of Love symbolically within our own inner verse as opposed to the outer verse? It is interesting that our planet Earth is between two planets that represent War and Peace. Is the truth out there? Or is it in here, inside each and every one of us? Truth is such a personal belief system that seems to always be changing. Life is about transformation in so many ways.

Change your perception and you change your world…

…your personal world…how you perceive it. Mercury (Communication), Venus (Attraction), Saturn (Limitation) and Uranus (Society) are also in Aries and is evident in the many personal/political conflicts that seem to be escalating across the globe.

Life can be a challenge and Aries energy loves a good challenge! Rather than competing with others, we could confront our own Ego by transforming “me” into “we”. Nothing is completely independent yet everything is inter-dependent. Co-dependent has become a very negative cliche. There is so much needless conflict in our world. If we continue to feed only our greed then we sow another angry seed. It is the Ego that separates us from others. Do we multiply only to divide? We are in the Age of Aquarius, not the Age of Aries, and yet we live in a world that has become more and more competitive. A world obsessed with war and strife. How can everything be Number One at the same time? All is One relates to our spiritual connection and not the individuation of the Ego. The universe seems to be part of a Sacred Geometry; therefore, all numbers are relevant and equally important. To claim that there is only one true God (my God versus your God)…well, we all know how wars are started.

The Ram is the animal totem of the sign Aries. A headstrong creature that can butt into personal affairs of others. Yet, inside every ram lies a gentle lamb. The aggressive nature of an Aries Sun/Moon/Rising Sign can be tempered by the other signs and their placements in the Astrological Chart. Although Aries energy can be egotistical, aggressive and competitive in no way implies that all Aries are ruthless and constantly seeking to win a battle. Aries energy can initiate positive action. Fire is a very useful and necessary element as long as it is not implosive or explosive (a rocket scientist would probably argue my point, rightfully so). Aries rules the head and being a fire sign can initiate headaches, inflammation and other irritations that are expression of repression. However, from an esoteric point of view, the New Moon in Aries can be a very direct and exciting time. We can begin projects that require a lot of focus and energy. Aries is also associated with sports where we can experiment with these archetypes in a more constructive and playful way. Unfortunately, a lot of Major League sports have become too aggressive and violent. Sports, like the Olympics (named after the Olympian Champions of Ancient Greece) are a perfect outlet for restless and challenging forces. The lesson isn’t always about winning…it is about being a good sport.

Athena was the Greek Goddess of Wisdom and a sister of Ares. She was born with a spear and shield in hand and unlike her bother who was too impulsive, she invoked the wisdom of the Owl being wise and less rash in her actions. Athena represents the anima of her Brother Ares’ animus. It is said that Ares and Aphrodite bore the twins, Phobos “panic” and Deimos “fear” which together can create conflict. Fear is the absence of love. Both serve a purpose to be explored and understood within each and everyone one of us. Owning our personal inner conflict is winning half the battle. To forge ahead with positive action is our best weapon. As the Pilgrim of Peace said: “If someone were to kill me, they would only be killing my body and not my soul; if I kill another, I destroy my soul”.

Haste makes waste…if you’re looking for a fight or challenging others…you’re adding fire to fire. We find balance, fairness, justice and peace in the opposite sign Libra where we can learn to integrate these qualities by practicing the Way of the Peaceful Warrior. Mars is also in the Sign that it rules Aries which can propel us in either direction if we get caught in the friction of impulsive reaction. Last, but not least, we have Uranus in Aries igniting the social unrest and uprising brought about by hostile aggression…and yet there are humanitarians around the globe harnessing and channeling the energy to take on the challenges that have been imposed upon the many…by the few. Mercury will be transiting back into dreamy Pisces…where just letting go of what is beyond our control.

Aries is also symbolic of the Inner Child. The God Ares was the first born son of Zeus who always sought the love and approval of his father. I believe that a lot of tyrants are simply wounded children seeking the love and approval of an Almighty Father, their own father, the institutional father or their own personal God. Adults are merely children in grown up bodies and we need to rediscover the child in each of us so that we can heal. It is time to remove the superficial band aid, to allow our wounds to truly heal in the fresh air and light of day. It is said in several spiritual traditions that we are to be innocent as children to enter into Heaven, Nirvana, Paradise or state of Bliss.

It is the first New Moon of Spring…so spring into action…better yet…make it positive action!

Full Moon in Cancer

January 12, 2017  3:33 am  PST

Welcome to the first full moon of 2017! Known as the Cold Moon in the Northern Hemisphere when winter heralds in the Full Moon in Cancer.  In fact, this is the Full-feeling Moon that connects us with the Feminine Spirit and the Great Mother which waxes full at 3:33 am PST. I like to refer to this moon as “I want my mommy moon!”. This Cancer Full Moon is associated with the maternal instinct, hearth, home, compassion, and loving kindness. There are many people who nourish and nurture us in our lives and to them we give thanks. It would be a great gesture to offer the same to them by cooking a meal or baking some treats or even sitting next to a warm fire in both the hearth and heart to share the fondest of memories. To continue the spirit of the season with the ebb and flow of giving and receiving.

The feast of the Yuletide season as the light of the sun offers increasing daylight and warmth in the Northern Hemisphere is over now as the days grow longer and we patiently await the first seeds to break out of their shell and into the light of day.

The astrological sign Cancer is ruled by the Moon. It is a water sign and can flow like the high and low tides of our Cranial Sea. It can be highly sensitive to the moods of others. The Full Moon in Cancer is all about hidden feeling! It  can deepen our need for loved ones.  It can be like a crab hiding beneath a rock needing its space.  Cancer the Crab can be very sensitive and can get a little crabby if the heat is on too strong.  Remember that the crab is protected by a tough shell on the outside but very soft on the inside.  Being a Water Sign, we can easily be washed away by the tide of strong emotion .  Moon and Mood are synonymous and come and go like the tides.  Sometimes we can feel dark and empty like the New Moon or we can feel light and fulfilled like the Full Moon.  Everyone’s mood changes; just as the moon changes during her 29.5 day cycle, sometimes appearing in the sky during the day but somewhat more visible at night.   Cancer is ruled by the Moon.

Even when alone it is a time to honour the truth within our own heart…he hearth of our body temple. To nurture and comfort ourselves with the cleansing and purification of the element of water. As the moon affects the tides of the ocean and luring marine life from the depths of the subterranean sea, so it affects the tides of the ocean and depths of the subconscious. Some of us may become very sensitive and emotional…

when the heart is full, the eyes overflow

The heavy clouds within our own minds can overwhelm us to the point of an emotional cloudburst releasing a myriad of chemicals from our brain when we shed tears. Whoever said that boys and men are not supposed to cry must have been a maniac. I would much rather see tears flowing through emotional wounds as opposed to blood being spilled. It takes a real man to face up to his emotions. Fortunately, we live in a time when we are able to face the fears of our tears more openly.

With the Sun (Motivation) and Pluto (Power) in Capricorn (Limitations, Structure, Time, Discipline, Career Goals)  we may be feeling more down to earth after the restlessness and expansiveness of the Holidays. Some of us discover that we may have overindulged in food or drink. Or simply over spent by feeling obligated to buy gifts that perhaps were not necessary. In any case, the energy of Capricorn (ruled by Saturn) can expose our limitations and urge us to pull in the reins. People’s moods can become more serious. Capricorn represents Father and Cancer represents Mother.

In the North American Native tradition this is also known as the Wolf Moon. I can hear the Lone Wolf howling at the full moon in the cold winter night, like a child cries for its mother. Some of us do not have a mother or a father, but we do have one another. Our chosen family can be just as important as our biological family. Our Tribe…and it is our vibe that attracts our tribe. This Full Moon may stir up a cornucopia of changing moods. If a warm cup of cocoa after a day on the snow covered slopes won’t entice you to stay at home and cozy up by candlelight/fire…then a vacation with family/friends to a tropical beach would be perfect (any beach, any place would be comforting). This is the Mother Moon during the season that celebrates the birth of the many Solar Deities from various cultures.

The Archetypal Great Mother flows through everyone if they are open to the experience. Many people are Care Givers in a variety of ways.  Health Spas, Healing Retreats, Alternative Health Care and Hospices, all offering healing touch with aromatic herbs and remedies.  Nature is a vital part of the Healing Arts.  Those who truly care can have such a miraculous impact in the healing process of others.  We all need to nurture and to be nurtured.  Just watching the adoration, wonder and love in a baby’s eyes for its mother can bring tears to my own.

Mother Earth has the power to give life and also to devour it. We must come to respect that we are all her children and need to take care of her as she has cared for and continues to care for us….the pearl is a symbol of the moon:

“if we give her back her diamond, she will offer up her pearl” ~Dead Can Dance.

Welcome to the first full moon of Autumn…in Aries! Time to turn up the heat in the Northern Hemisphere.

Flaming colours ignited by the Sun splashing yellow, orange and red on the tree leaves.
Ares was the Greek God of War (the opposite of his sister Aphrodite: Greek Goddess of Love and Peace) and was worshiped by Warlords in Ancient Greece. In Rome, he was known as the God Mars who gives the name to the month of March. The martial arts are ruled by this sign. In fact, Ares is still worshiped today in an archetypal way. Even if rational science dictates that it is not plausible to explore a planet like Venus, could we not, at the very least, explore the planet of Love symbolically within our own inner verse as opposed to the outer verse? It is interesting that our planet Earth exists between two planets that represent War and Peace, as well as being the symbols for Male and Female. Is the truth out there? Or is it in here, inside each and every one of us? Truth is such a personal belief system that seems to always be changing. Life is about transformation in so many ways.

Change your perception and you change your world…your personal world…how you perceive it.

Life can be a test and Aries energy loves a good challenge! Rather than competing with others, we could confront our own Ego by transforming “me” into “we”. Nothing is completely independent everything is inter-dependent. Co-dependent has become a very negative catch word. There is so much needless conflict in our world. If we continue to feed only our greed then we sow another angry seed. Do we multiply only to divide? We are in the Age of Aquarius, not the Age of Aries, and yet we live in a world that has become more and more action oriented. Think of how time seems to have accelerated by the speed of technology. A world obsessed by action and trying to be first at everything. Aries is the first Sign of the Astrological Wheel. How can everything be Number One at the same time? All is One relates to our spiritual connection to everyone and everything.

The universe seems to be part of a Sacred Geometry; therefore, all numbers are relevant and equally important. To claim that there is only one true God (my God versus your God)…well, we all know how wars are started. It has been said that God is too ominous for just one religion. Uranus is also in Aries which affects society as a whole…there is a restless energy brewing that cries out for reformation and revolution due to the many injustices in our world today. Aries sometimes needs to conquer…and strategy is one of the ways it divides people through the Ego…like dividing a military army so that it can create conflict within the individual and others…fueling an “us” vs. “them” attitude. If we allow our Egos to always be right…we may win the battle…but lose the war.

The Ram is the animal totem of the sign Aries. A headstrong creature can butt into personal affairs of others. Yet, inside every ram lies a gentle lamb. The aggressive nature of an Aries Sun/Moon/Rising Sign can be tempered by the other signs and there placements in the Astrological Chart. Although Aries energy can be fiery, direct or aggressive in no way implies that all Aries are ruthless and constantly seeking to win a battle. Aries energy can initiate positive action. Fire is a very useful and necessary element as long as it is not implosive or explosive (a rocket scientist would probably argue my point, rightfully so). Aries rules the head and being a fire sign can initiate headaches, inflammation, fever and other irritations.

Harvest Moon

The Sun in Virgo (work, health and service) has fully waxed the lunar light of this Full Moon in Pisces (sensitive, spiritual, artistic) reflecting our need to transcend the ego by letting go and surrendering. Earth meets Water. Nature sacrifices its many fruits and vegetables that let go of the tree and the earth…to be consumed…so that it may perpetuate the cycle of life. The grape is ready to be plucked from the vine and changed into wine as we dine and surrender to what is divine to each of us in the coming season of thanksgiving for what we have sown.

Neptune (Illusion) is also in Pisces which is the Sign that it rules. Chiron (the Wounded Healer) is conjunct in Pisces too.  This may make for a very sensitive time with the dreamy…imaginative…romantic Moon. The opposition of the Sun and Moon during this time of the year reflects the mood of people gearing down from the high tide of Summer as they slowly Fall back into work, school, etc. The imagination will shine through for many who will channel this power energy into creative works of art, music and poetry.

Pisces is the last Sign of the Astrological Year and is depicted in symbolism as two fish. In ancient times the symbol for Pisces was the Dolphin which was associated with Apollo the Greek Sun God. Dolphins have been connected messengers to the divine. Water is an element that changes into many forms. The Dolphin is a mammal that dives deep into the subconscious realms while also transcending and surfacing into the conscious realm of air. This is a very sensitive Sign but don’t confuse it for weakness because the dolphin knows how to bring down a shark. The symbol of the Two Fish demonstrate Duality and is probably why a lot of persons with Sun, Moon or Ascendant in Pisces are considered to be wishy washy. Those persons with a Pisces prominent in their chart tend to dive deep into there own fantasy world often being inspired to be creative in music, poetry and the arts….while some swim in murky waters of excess drowning their sorrows in ailments. They are great storytellers and also crafty at telling tall tales that they convince themselves to be true.

Neptune is associated with Pisces (the Peacemaker) and is now in the sign it rules Pisces…so his trident may stir things up in the subconscious…so there may be a need to surrender the ego to a Higher Power…be it God/dess, the Divine or Great Mystery. It also relates to illusion, fantasy and daydreams. In our need to connect with the Divine we may choose to consume intoxicants in order to relax and let go. Here is where we may heed to the words Nothing In Excess. It is said that Pisces is associated with the fermented grape and is the origin of the saying: drinks like a fish.

Here is the Full moon to gather with family and friends to celebrate the last days of summer by feasting, drinking, dancing and sharing our stories experienced during the Season of the Sun. We have opportunity to be sensitive toward the suffering of others and to share our joy in a mutual and beneficial way. Remember: Transcendence is the key word for this watery moon…Escape into the fantasy realm of dreams… This is the time when the tree begins to let go of her fruit to continue the cycle of life…sweet September Harvest…Letting Go is the feeling of this moon… scribe poetry…sing a song from your soul… dance to the beat of the One Heart… if you feel like a fish out of water then swim in the ethereal realm… if you feel like a fish in water then dive deep into the cosmic sea of your unconscious mind…remember…life is but a dream… if you can be by the water do so and share your creative gifts with loved ones…trust that the universe is unfolding as it should… lift up your holy grail to the moon and drink of her luminous light!

Note: when the Moon is transiting a particular Sign it is like a mirror reflecting the mood of  that Sign and may be felt on a more emotional level. Ec;ipses are symbolic of not overshadowing others light or your light being eclipsed by another.

The New Moon can be experienced as a journey toward the within…to the center of our being. The New Moon in Virgo is a time to reap within what has been sown without.  It is the time when we begin to harvest that which brings us back to earth during the last weeks of summer.  Many people return to work, school or some form of service. Sun (Motivation), Moon (Mood), Mercury (Communication) in Retrograde and Jupiter (Faith) are all conjunct in Virgo…at core we feel the need to strive…to thrive…and stay alive. What can I do? How can I repair? How do I make it better? Are those really butterflies in my tummy?
Too much analysis can lead to paralysis…
Being a Virgo, I completely concur with the above quote, because Virgo is the Sign of the Analyst.  Anyone with Virgo prominent in their birth chart (Sun/ Moon/Rising or a stellium of orbs in the 6th House) can be a stickler to detail. Too much detail can derail us from our beingness.  It is the Sign of the Perfectionist, and it can be difficult to put away the voice of the Inner Critic that resides in us all.
Where there is Light…there is Shadow…
So the Sun in Virgo through excessive worry and needing to be of service can sometimes leave the Perfectionist personality in the Dark and ignore any complex matter by falling into the abyss of martyrdom. The Inner Critic is simply a recording of the Outer Critic…which is the voice of others who have inundated us with the projection of their own shadow and in the process their criticism has become destructive to the self-esteem and confidence…which can further demise and victimize poor Virgo.   People born with the Moon in Virgo tend to be quite critical of their self and others; as well as being shy and sometimes emotionally aloof because they need to know the facts of the matter to ensure that it is perfect…before they can open the gate to their Secret Garden.  By comparing, judging and needing to know why, we steer away from the center of our being.  Of course we require these cognitive tools at times because Virgo wants to be of service, to work and is health focused…sometimes obsessed.  Virgo is also associated with worry which can lead to problems in the stomach and intestines where we digest and process not only our food but also our gut instinct.
In fact, the Medical Health Care Profession uses the symbol of Mercury’s Winged Staff Caduceus as their emblem. The two snakes intertwine like the double helix of DNA. As mentioned, Virgo is health oriented and prompts us to focus upon our personal health issues and to commit ourselves to a healthier lifestyle.  It can be a time to be supportive of the health of others, in particular the caregivers in our lives.  A lot of Virgo energy is channeled through the many health care service providers who are often overworked and unappreciated.  Our Health Care System seems to be inundated with problems and lacking the resources that we are in dire need of.  That is why it is important to heed to the words: Physician Heal Thyself.  We need to explore ways in which we can heal ourselves in Body, Mind and Spirit.  There are many healers in this world, but we are our best healer in the long run.  I am grateful that there are those who can set broken bones, stitch wounds and save lives.  However, I think about the saying: Broken bones mend faster than broken spirits.  We need to integrate both Allopathic and Alternative Health Practices. It can be very frustrating when one side dismisses the benefits of the other.
Without a healthy planet we cannot expect to be healthy ourselves.  I have discovered that when I help to heal others I am also helping to heal myself.Divine Servitude is in a sense the calling that allows Virgo (associated with the Virgin) to harvest the fruits of its labours to assist others in a time of solace.  Many Virgo types enter into deep seclusion to contemplate the pain and suffering of others that they too feel. Being of service is a word that also translates the latin word servus which means slave. Virgo loves to offer assistance on its own terms of service oftentimes volunteering without wage but it will not respond well to arrogant demands that treat them as a slave.  It is truly about integrity and needing to be humble about being served as well as being of service.
Ceres was the ancient Roman Goddess of Agriculture and harvest of the grain.  She is incorporated into the Virgo symbol of a woman holding a sheath of wheat.  The word cereal is derived from her name.  The glyph of the scythe that cuts away the barley is similar to the symbol of the question mark that cuts away to an answer after a period of analysis.

Give us this day our daily bread so that we may share it with others. Just some food for thought or barley soup for the soul. Remember Health is True Wealth.

Note: There will be a Annular Solar Eclipse during this New Moon as she moves between the Earth and Sun casting her shadow…reminding us not to eclipse the light of others…or allow ourselves to be overshadowed by another.

Full Moon in Gemini

November 25, 2015  2:44 PM  PST

The Sun is currently in Sagittarius igniting the Holy-day Season by marking the beginning of the many Festivals of Light honoured during these the darkest days of the year. The Full Moon is solitary in Gemini facing the Sun with all of its luminous beauty. This combination can make our Spirits Bright as we think about how we celebrate our faith or perhaps how others view it as a philosophical question asking what are we truly celebrating? Or we may feel conflicted by the seeming double standards that are witnessed by the frenetic pace of people rushing about…in their quest for value and meaning…and the reason for the Season. It can feel like a bi-polar moon!

A vast majority of religions celebrate the Birth of the Light during this month. It is an affirmation and dedication to the many Beings of Light who have been Spiritual Torch Bearers throughout the millennium.

Jupiter rules Sagittarius helping to expand our faith in the true meaning of the holy-days…Sun (Core), Mercury  (Communication) and Saturn (Boundaries) are  currently tenanting this fire sign. People travel short and long distances to be with family and loved ones. To come together and share in the Feast of Abundance and to nestle with one another in the warmth and comfort of the hearth and home. Discussions are shared in the guise of heated debates over shallow and misguided thoughts and others are engaged in deep meaningful conversations sharing each others stories of faith, hope and love.

The Full Moon in Gemini can also make us more restless and anxious as we prepare for all of the many festivities that are celebrated during this time. Office parties are being held and would be a great time to let loose and just be who we are as opposed to what we think we are. We may think we know it all, only to discover that we are pulling the wool over our own eyes when we could be knitting that wool into a sweater that we could gift to someone else. It is a beneficial time to share ideas or new concepts with friends and colleagues as it is the Social Networking Moon.

Again, Communication is a key component of Gemini and this is a time to get those letters, cards and parcels off to loved ones to make it safely through the hustle and bustle of the season. No one wants to be alone during this time. Turn off the TV and attend a Holy-day concert or one of the many Festival of Light Celebrations talking over a cup of warm holy-day cheer with others.

This would be a great moon to be inspired with gift giving ideas. It’s not all about overspending and stressing out in the consumption of too many needless things, only to end up feeling exhausted and resentful for having endured the long line ups and expensive purchases. Think expansive rather than expensive. Too much of something can end up being a whole lot of nothing. We have many gifts that we can create and share with others.

Sometimes the Gemini Sun, Moon or Rising person is the social butterfly on the fly needing to know why…and loving a good conversation whether behaving friendly of flippant.  Too much talk can attract gossip and create needless misunderstandings. Make an effort to communicate effectively and to listen to others. Remember the children’s game Whispering Down The Lane? You whisper something into one person’s ear that is passed on to the next person and by the time it reaches the end of the line it has become totally out of context. This is where Mercury the ruler of Gemini plays the trickster teaching us the wisdom in foolishness or even the foolishness in wisdom.

Communication with others may go back and forth and become passive/aggressive. It is not the best time to rationalize feelings as there can be so much mental clutter in our heads that cause confusion for ourselves and other. Travel plans can be unexpectedly thwarted…so be prepared for delays and exercise patience in all of these matters.

This is the Full Moon of Communion with our Higher Aspirations. It is the dance of the Light and Dark Twins in each of us. The Dark Twin being our Shadow which seems to surface during the Dark Time of the year as we catch glimpses of it wherever there is Light that is too bright  like the blinding Sun. You can gaze at the Moon for hours and endless nights only to witness the changing phases due to the shadow effect. Eclipses bring an opportunity to feel what or whom eclipses the Light in our own lives or whether we overshadow others with our own Shadow side.

Sun. Moon and Rising Gemini can feel the swift change of moods also. Flipping from one side of the coin to another. We are all gifts of the Cosmos wrapped and adorned in a myriad of colourful expression; some more decorated than others. However, it is what is inside us that is the actual gift of our own soul personality.

If you can purchase a live Tree for the holy-days you will be able to return it and regift it to Mother Earth for others to enjoy.

Finally, let us be as the Three Magi and keep our eyes upon the North Star and the hope that it symbolizes. The gifts of Light, Life and Love are to be cherished. The Return of the Invincible Sun Sol Invictus will mark the Winter Solstice in just a few weeks.  Be mindful that there are many pathways that seek the Light and when choosing a holy-day greeting consider the many holy-day feasts and rituals that may not where the same mask but share the same Divine Light.

So, eat, drink and be merry! Take care of each other and journey safely! Most of all, enjoy the Magic of the Season…and may the Lamb and the Lion in each and everyone of your hearts lay down together in peace…Happy Holy Days!

Tree of Life

163345_332138800229528_1031080642_n

In a way…we are like the trees…we begin life as a seed that germinates in the womb of mother (earth)…we have a family tree where roots have been deeply growing for generations…like the trees we need to be grounded and connected to the earth…we require both the sun and rain to be nourished and nurtured…some of us grow bigger and taller than others…we reach up to the sky with our arms stretched out like branches…so we can protect and shelter one another…so we aspire higher and higher…sometimes we are overshadowed by other trees…some of us more sappy than others…some of us too rigid to weather the winds of change…and like the trees we change through the seasons…sometimes blooming…sometimes withering…and sometimes people can try to cut us down…so when you feel like you have lost all of your leaves…too bare and cold to encumber in winter’s dark, deep slumber…think of the trees that perservere…reminding us of the new life that awaits us in the warmth and rebirth of spring…so keep your head up and know that there are many more blossoms, leaves and branches for you to bear new fruit…so remain vigilant and strong as you heal and grow in this beautiful thing we call Life…
