New Moon in Aquarius

“I didn’t change…I just woke up.”

Aquarian energy is all about revolution and resolution! Although referred to as an AIR Sign many people mistake it for a WATER Sign because Aquarius is the Water Bearer pouring from the urn of the unconscious mind into the conscious mind. Many persons born with the Sun/Moon/Rising Aquarius in their Birth Chart will feel the restless change stirring within during this Lunation Cycle with the Sun and Moon conjunct Aquarius. I can feel the season changing and the days growing longer as we approach the midpoint between Winter and Spring in the Northern Hemisphere. If you stand barefoot upon the ground you can feel the energy of the seeds about to break through their shell and germinate with the perpetual gift of life reborn. If you actually take the time to feel the earth beneath your feet…you can almost sense the restless seeds that are breaking open, soon to emerge into the light of day and germinate with the gift of change. It all reminds me of the Persian Proverb:

take the time to find a seed within your heart and bring forth a flower

This New Moon begins with the Sun (Motivation) and the Moon (Mood) in the Sign Aquarius. This is the Second Chance New Moon also known as the turn around moon…so take a good look at what is happening in our global community…it is a reflection of all the energies in our innerverse. The humanitarian aspect of Aquarius will also stir up rebellious energy within the sphere of social and political injustices.  If everything is a reflection like the sun’s light upon the moon…then perhaps we could look within and seek communion with our Higher Self…to make change where change begins. It is reconciling both the Masculine and Feminine Principles within each of us…bringing harmony with the yin and yang energies. There is a lot of needless conflict being orchestrated in the realm of politics which is creating a moral divide within many of us but also a collective catalyst that brings revolution out of devolution. It is the Sign of Humanity and Community.

Aquarius is associated with the planet Uranus which was discovered in 1781 only a few decades after electricity was harnessed beginning the flow of energy that would invent the light bulb (metaphorically popping over the heads of the new inventors and scientists with innovating ideas) charging such inventions as the battery, camera and hot air balloon. Uranus was also discovered between both the French and American Revolutions. So Aquarius came to be associated with freedom, revolution, rebellion, electricity, eccentricity, technology and the New Age. Here we are centuries later shifting into the Age of Aquarius.

Change is taking place at a more rapid pace, we spend our valuable energy on trying to change so many things at once but as the saying goes:

the more things change, the more they remain the same.

Even Shakespeare said: Striving to better, oft we mar what is well.

So we expend our resources attempting to change the world around us. Even some people attempt to change others out of fear and ignorance. Our differences are our similarities. “Change our attitude and we change our world”. Nothing is constant but change. So being human (both man/woman) we create and affect change everyday. We engage in change all the time….yes, nothing is constant but change. Therefore, if you want to make change the Crescent Moon following is a perfect opportunity. We are witnessing change on every level in our world. Revolutions have been happening since the dawn of our existence. We are all a part of the global community. Commune means to come together to honour the Free Spirit within us all. Perhaps this is why a lot of Air Signs such as Aquarius are emotionally reserved taking the time to allow the waters of the unconscious to pour out of the urn and into their conscious mind. Aquarius is the Water Bearer…

nothing is as soft as water, but who can withstand the raging flood?

Some Aquarians can send a shocking bolt out of the blue because many of them are great thinkers with eccentric ideas. In Aquarius we transform energy from water into electricity…we allow our tears to flow out of the chalice of our hopes and fears…we begin to feel the shift of the new calendar year and strive to remain in gear with our resolution and intention that we make with ourselves and others. So the cycle continues in the eternal ebb and flow of revolution and evolution. It is time for a recharge. Be a part of the solution. Be a Rebel with a Cause!

Full Moon in Leo

leo cover size

January 23, 2016  5:45 pm   PST

When the Sun is shining bright in Aquarius although we are  still cold in winter…the Moon is reflecting the light in Leo reminding us when we were still hot in summer six months earlier…polar opposites of the Aquarius/Leo axis. Thus we continue the current lunation cycle that began 14 days ago at the New Moon. Where Aquarius proclaims freedom and love of community…Leo roars with need of attention and love of friends.
Leo rules the heart and is associated with the Sun. I like to think of this Full Moon as a night of  lighthearted  fun!  With the Sun (our core identity) in Aquarius and the Moon (our mood) in Leo…it will be the eternal drama between the head and heart…the heart hath its reason, which reason knows nothing of…an act of love whether for humanity or vanity is still a form of love. This is the time to act and attract the change that you feel in the Heart Chakra/Solar Plexus (both located just above the belly button and near the heart).

All the world’s a stage and we all play our part in it. Leo wants to be in the spotlight and receive attention. Some of us will create drama in our lives in order to feel the recognition that we need. It is a fire sign that can make us somewhat restless and frisky. Romance can be extra hot on this fiery Full Moon which ignites the first signs of spring  fever. This Full Moon occurs during the midpoint between the Winter Solstice and the Vernal Equinox. In fact, the month of February is named after the Ancient Roman Goddess Februa who presided over the fever and passion of Love…

Sun lights up the daytime…Moon lights up the night…Everybody’s got the fever…That is something you should know…Fever isn’t such a new scene…Fever started long ago…

It is no wonder that we celebrate the Festival of Romance with white, red and pink hearts on Valentine’s Day. Vali was a Norse archer god (Valiant, Valour)  while Cupid/Eros was the pansexual Roman/Greek deity of erotic love. Personally, I feel that this celebration of Love has been corrupted by the belief system that love is so conditional; that showering someone with flowers, candy, cards or dinner professes one’s undying love. It is more than simply a Hallmark holiday. Should love be exclusive to couples only? There are so many ways to show that you love someone without having to buy their affection. Remember, there are many degrees of love and it is not to be measured by the monetary value of a gift or extravagant dinner. What an honour it would be to have a loved one create a heartfelt dinner, and then for us to return the favour with a hot bubble bath and an erotic massage. There are a multitude of ways to say: I Love You!

Personally, it is more of a celebration of the One Heart that beats and loves us all unconditionally on this magickal and mysterious tour between birth and death. Love is the absence of fear, so be fearless. To have courage literally translates to have heart. It takes courage to risk being hurt when dealing with affairs of the heart. If you want to be loved, then love. Some people are too proud to risk wearing their heart upon their sleeve. They claim that they have been hurt and betrayed too many times and are unwilling to open their own heart chakra.  They would rather be fierce and allow that proverbial thorn in the lion’s paw to keep them wounded. Perhaps the thorn that pierces their wounded heart could be gently removed by an act of compassion and love. when the heart is full..the eyes overflow…

This is a great night to gather with lovers and friends. As I mentioned, Leo is a fire sign and can ignite this Full Moon night. This is no time to play mind games with ourselves or with others. We all can become a bit self-centered during this time, so play fair. It is the Moon to entertain and to be entertained by going to a concert, the theatre, a sports game or a night on the town dancing. Sitting around a fire with a group of friends would definitely warm up the night. Focus on being creative and having fun…and yes…even a heart to heart with a lover or friend can channel the restless energy.

The Sun in Aquarius (Freedom) is being mirrored by the Moon in Leo (Loyalty) and reminds me of the lion in the film Born Free. Don’t we all just want to be…free? Maybe even a bit wild? With the Sun in the sign of Humanity  and the Moon in Leo of taking heart…is what courage requires with seeds of compassion. In the jungle, no lion sleeps tonight. Remember, not everyone can be the King or Queen of the Jungle all of the time, so make room on your personal stage to allow others to shine in the moonlight too!

Live by the Sun, Love by the Moon…

Once in a Blue Moon…no…the moon isn’t the colour blue…but maybe because it is alone in the Sign Aquarius this time round. There are usually three moons each season. Many farmers and early agriculturists gave names to the full moons. The first summer moon was Early Summer Moon…next Midsummer Moon…and finally Late Summer Moon. Sometimes there are four moons in a season and this moon is called a Blue Moon.

Aquarius is associated with the planet Uranus which was discovered in 1781 only a few decades after electricity was harnessed and began the flow of energy that would invent and power the light bulb (popping up over the heads of the inventors, genuises and other scientists with ideas that were considered eccentric during that time) and charge such inventions as the battery, camera and hot air balloon.  Uranus was also discovered between both the French and American Revolutions. So Aquarius came to be associated with freedom, revolution, rebellion, electricity, eccentricity, technology, the New Age and last (but not least) community and being humanitarian. Some Aquarians can send a shocking bolt out of the blue because many of them are great thinkers with eccentric ideas. As Einstein said: imagination is far greater than knowledge.
Here we are, centuries later, shifting into the Age of Aquarius. Change is taking place at a more rapid pace, we spend our valuable energy on trying to change so many things at once but as the saying goes: the more things change, the more they remain the same.  Even Shakespeare said: Striving to be better, oft we mar what is well.  So we expend our resources attempting to change the world around us.  Many  people attempt to change others out of fear and ignorance.  Our differences are Our similarities.  Change our attitude and we change our world.  Nothing is constant but change.  Therefore, as a human ( man or woman) we create and affect change everyday.  We engage in change all the time… if you want to make change… this Full Moon is a perfect opportunity.  If you follow the Solar/Lunar Way this is the day…we are all a part of the global community.

Commune means to come together, not only as a group but to honour and respect (take a closer look) the Free Spirit within us all.  Perhaps this is why Moon in Air Signs such as Aquarius are emotionally reserved taking the time to allow the waters of the unconscious to pour out of the urn of their subconscious mind (air).  Aquarius is the Water Bearer…nothing is as soft as water, but who can withstand the raging flood?   Water represents the emotions.  I feel it is important in this Age of Communication to be not only mindful but also heartful. This is why many people feel disconnected and want to belong.  Social Networking is a result of the Leo/Aquarius axis.  The Sun in Leo wants to receive love and attention…deep down yearning for acceptance…recognition and approval in a very competitive society…and willing to risk all individuality to belong to a group, cult or even a gang.  This is not the lion’s roar…this is the rebel’s yell.

Aquarius is also the sign of the humanitarian. Many persons with Moon in Aquarius can antagonize others when it comes to their somewhat aloof personality with Other becoming emotionally shocked at times when they feel intimidated…losing their sense of freedom. Like many Air Signs they are easily bored and crave excitement. Mercury (Communication) is still in Leo. Here is where the Leo/Aquarius axis comes into play and the mood changes like the flip of a coin…one moment attached and the next detached…flying like a bat out of hell screaming: freedom!

The Full Moon in Aquarius reflects the Sun in Leo and illuminates the mind with the changes we feel compelled to make while in a state of playfulness in the summer heat.  We want to be engaged with others while at the same time needing our freedom. Remember…a whole lot of something can be a whole lot of nothing. Friendship is key…loyalty fundamental. If you are seeking an affair then shine and make certain to be in the spotlight flirting for a summer fling.  So the cycle continues in the eternal ebb and flow of evolution and revolution.  Gather with friends in positive action rather than negative reaction.  There is a time to dream and a time to awaken.  Be a part of the solution. Be a Rebel with a Cause!

“I didn’t change…I just woke up.”

This New Moon will be in Aquarius for one minute before moving into dreamy and sensitive Pisces. The Sun which is currently also in Aquarius will be moving into Pisces a few minutes later. New Moon in Aquarius

Aquarian energy is all about revolution and resolution! It is the second New Moon since the Winter Solstice which means…it is the Chinese New Year of the Snake (changing…as it sheds its old skin).  We are also just passing the midpoint between Winter and Spring (Groundhog Day, Imbolc, Candlemas)…I can feel the season changing as the days grow longer…and feel the energy of the seeds about to break through their shell and germinate with the perpetual gift of life. If you actually take the time to feel the earth beneath your feet…you can almost sense the restless seeds that are breaking open, soon to emerge into the light of day and germinate with the gift of change. This New Moon begins with the Sun (Motivation) and the Moon (Mood) in the Sign Aquarius…joined by Venus  (Love) which is also in Aquarius. This is the turn around moon…so take a good look at what is happening in our global community. I like to think of this Full Moon as a night of  lighthearted  fun!  With the Sun (our core identity), Mercury (our communication) and Mars (our actions) in Aquarius with the Moon (our mood) in Leo it will be the eternal drama between the head and heart…the heart hath its reason, which reason knows nothing of…an act of love whether for humanity or vanity is still a form of love. This is the time to act and attract the change that you feel in the Heart Chakra and Solar Plexus (located just above the belly button).

This Full Moon occurs a week prior the midpoint between the Winter Solstice and the Vernal Equinox.

Full Moon in Aquarius

Wednesday, August 1, 2012   8:27 PM PDT

Some Aquarians can send a shocking bolt out of the blue because alot of them are great thinkers with eccentric ideas.

Perhaps this is why Moon in Air Signs such as Aquarius are emotionally reserved taking the time to allow the waters of the unconscious to pour into the urn of their conscious mind (air). The Sun in Leo wants to receive love and attention…deep down yearning for acceptance…recognition and approval in a very competitive society…and willing to risk all individuality to belong to a group or even a gang.  This is not the lion’s roar…this is the rebel yell.

Aquarius is also the sign of the humanitarian. Many persons with Moon in Aquarius can antagonize when it comes to their somewhat aloof personality with Other becoming emotionally shocking at times when they feel intimidated…losing their sense of freedom. Like many Air Signs they are easily bored and crave excitement. Here is where the Leo/Aquarius axis comes into play and the mood changes like the flip of a coin….one moment attached and the next detached…flying like a bat out of hell screaming: freedom!

The Full Moon in Aquarius reflects the Sun in Leo and illuminates the mind with the changes we feel compelled to make while in a state of playfulness in the summer heat.  The Sun moves into Virgo on the 23rd and with Mercury in retrograde in Leo there is bound to be melodrama due to communication around affairs of the heart, Venus in Gemini will be reluctant to hold Mercury’s hand but will make certain to be in the spotlight flirting for a summer fling.  So the cycle continues in the eternal ebb and flow of evolution and revolution.  Gather with friends in positive action rather than negative reaction.  There is a time to dream and a time to awaken.  Be a part of the solution. Be a Rebel with a Cause!
