New Moon in Libra

… there is a universal justice ~ and the eyes of truth are always watching…

The Sun (Core) and the Moon (Mood) merge in the Air Sign Libra seeking balance and harmony with self and with others. Venus (Attraction) is also in Libra and rules this Air Sign. This is also the New Moon of the Sacred Union between any inharmonious energy dynamics. Each of us are faced with moments in which we need to assess opposing forces in our lives and to weigh them upon the scales of Balance and Justice. Try to remove the blindfold of Injustice and see that everything is beautiful in its own way and that includes each and everyone of us. The mood seems to be one of fluctuation…weighing the pros and cons in the search for liberty, justice, peace and harmony. In certain parts of the world the scales remain unfairly imbalanced. Social injustice is being addressed on many issues…and seems to come round again when the sun and moon are conjunct in Libra …including Libra’s realm of partnerships, equality, equity, union and attraction.

Most people are familiar with the Law of Attraction but seem to negate the Law of Repulsion. When we accept that certain energy (even the energy within each of us) is sometimes repelling in order to achieve harmony and to accept its unique way. Positive and Negative are both equal and necessary charges and without them we simply can not recharge our batteries. We need to empty so that we may fill. Good/Evil, Happy/Sad, Light/Dark, Sparse/Dense, Yin/Yang, Head/Heart are on the axis of opposites. Movement is ebb and flow. If the scales were completely still, they would in essence become stagnant, boring and without motion.

if there are no ups and downs in life…you’re dead.

Libra marks the first day of Autumn in the Northern Hemisphere. As the cool weather draws near and the nights grow longer, many people want to nest with a companion. Venus (Aphrodite) the Goddess of love is blowing a kiss with thought and feeling about merging with Other. All in not fair in love and war…or so it goes. It is the perfect New Moon to deal with relationship issues on all levels, including the relationship that we experience with ourselves. Be willing to risk honesty when weighing our own heart with the feather of our own truth. Be fair when someone professes a truth that you are not in agreement with.  Each may be a truth according to their own experience and viewpoint. If we need to refine any agreements in our intimate relations, then now is the moment to initiate them.

sun lights up the daytime, moon lights up the night

A ritual of love and beauty can be performed in any romantic setting: A fire with lots of candles or ambient lighting with sensual adornments like a red rose of love or a white lily of eros. Of course, water cleanses…why not enjoy a luxurious bubble bath infused with the most delicious essential oils like lavender, orange and vanilla or better yet rose oil from the rose flower associated with Venus? Treat your self to something of beauty. Remember to look beyond the Vanity Mirror of superficial beauty and look at the many beautiful mirrors of our loved ones who also reflect our inner beauty.

We all desire to be valued and loved. Are there any friends or family that you need to express your love and appreciation to?  Perhaps there has been an injustice that needs to be addressed. Can we meet upon a common ground of acceptance and not take rejection to heart? Indeed this Lunation Cycle begins with decision making. If we are the Universe’s way of knowing itself, then Peace and Harmony truly begins with each and everyone one of us.

Full Moon in Libra

libra

April 10, 2017  11:08 PM  PDT

Did you know that going to the Ball  had its origin in the custom of going to a party or social gathering during a Full Moon?  Prior to electricity, people would rely upon the Full Moon to light up the night of festivities, therefore, being referred to as the Ball. These days certain people still gather beneath the Full Moon.  The Mirror Ball (Disco Ball) in most dance clubs replicates the light of the moon by reflecting the rays of the spotlight…into  myriad projections of artificial moonbeams affecting each person’s mood in a unique way. On a grander scale it can affect the weather and the magnitude of earthquakes. As the moon affects our ocean’s tides it must also have an affect upon our bodily fluids. Mood swings in the Cranial Sea, women’s menstruation and patients bleeding more profusely during surgery. One thing most people would agree upon is that the Moon is controversial! Moon/Mood

Welcome the first full moon of Spring!

The current Lunation Cycle began with a New Moon in Aries…affecting the deeper fire within each of us.  The Sun (motivation) and Uranus (Humanity) are still in fiery Aries. Not surprising with conversations around the tension of war in the media due to the violent atrocities around the world.
We used to wonder where war lived, what it was that made it so vile. And now we realize that we know where it lives… inside ourselves. Albert Camus
Collectively, there has been a tremendous amount of unrest within Gaia and within us. I attribute it to the anticipation of the season with an abundance of energy that is struggling to breakthrough…like a seed in the dark soil preparing to shed its shell and emerge into the light of day. In winter, old ways die and in spring are reborn. How do we channel this renewed energy into positive action as opposed to the frenetic activity that can sometimes overwhelm us…whether through media or social interaction.

Where there is light…there is shadow.

Persons born with the Sun in Libra may feel the full moon more intensely as it is the opposite time of the year and balancing opposition is what they strive to do. They may feel indecisive about important matters involving Other. Not all may seem fair in love…and yes, war.

The first Full Moon of Spring is also referred as the Pink Moon because of the many pink blossoms that open up this time of the year in the Northern Hemisphere!  If you look closely you can see the rabbit in the moon. Spring always occurs just before Easter (which always falls on the first Sunday, after the first Full Moon, after the first day of Spring). Each year the Full Moon occurs heralding the festival of Easter and Spring. The Sun rises in the east and thus is our Eastern Star which also marks the beginning of the Astrological New Year. Life seems to be bursting with energy as the days grow longer and warmer. The Sun (motivation) and Uranus (Society) are currently in the Sign Aries (Greek God of War, Action, Aggression) symbolic of the power and fire igniting the season. The Moon (Mood) and Jupiter  (faith) in Libra is diametrically opposed to the Sun, reflecting the restlessness of  Spring Fever .  Libra is associated with the ancient Roman Goddess Venus of Beauty and Love (Aphrodite: Greek Goddess of Love, Beauty, Arts) is the sign of Balance, Justice, Fairness, Truth, Beauty, and Harmony. Imagine the two Greek deities facing off:  the male God of Martial Arts and War opposite the female Goddess of Marital Arts and Peace.  Is it possible to integrate this archetypal conflict in our personal lives, so that we may be the love and peace that we seek through positive action?  We continue to pray for peace in the Middle East, yet we neglect the war within our own country and within ourselves. I ponder this dilemma as I gaze at the Full Moon encompassed by a rainbow aura of peace and contentment.  Do War and Peace even belong in the same sentence?  If I were to allow myself to be bombarded by images of war and violence in the media, I would never have the opportunity to seek and experience peace. When I walk along streets canopied with Cherry Blossoms ( a gift to us from Japan), I am certainly intoxicated with a sense of  peace, as nature continues to paint a breathtaking portrait of beauty each and every moment.

Since this is the Full Moon of Love and Peace, some of us may be yearning intimate connections with others. How beautiful life is when we take the time to see it in all its glory. The Sun is warming but can also burn. Nature contains opposites which seek to balance. Aries is the Sign of independence ~ Libra is the Sign of inter-dependence. Aries offers the fuel for positive action and in its opposite sign we gravitate to Other.

There is a universal justice and the eyes of truth are watching…

There is a balance in the scheme of things that allows us to integrate opposing energies through the Law of Harmony. Libra is associated with the Scales of Balance and Justice, and Harmony, therefore, we tend to weigh the pros and cons while remaining in a state of indecision.  Instead of listening to the voice of the inner critic, perhaps we could recreate a dialogue of compromise and compassion, embracing the The Peaceful Warrior within.  We can create a healthy relationship between our head and our heart.

It can be a perfect time to channel our restless energy by engaging with others in a social gathering. Turn on your charm, creativity and romance.  Make love like the birds and the bees. Hug the trees!  Beauty is everywhere…check it out. Be as the Full Moon and reflect the Light of your Sun on others who may be traversing in the dark.

Just make love, not war

… there is a universal justice ~ and the eyes of truth are always watching…

There appears to be a lot of hype around the so-called Black Moon named so because it is a second New Moon in the same calendar month. There aren’t many reputable astrologers writing about this rare event. Two New Moons in the same calendar month seems to be a coincidence. The two Full Moons that occur in the same calendar month…once in a blue moon… when the second full moon is called a Blue Moon. Bear in mind that calendars have been revised throughout the ages and the Black Moon is simply the ending of yet another Lunation Cycle that begins with the New Moon and ends approximately 29.5 days later in the Dark Moon phase (basically the same phase). The Black Moon is a matter of perspective and does not follow the Lunar Calendar. In astrology there is a Dark Moon named after Lilith, not to be confused with the Black Moon.

The Sun (Core) and the Moon (Mood) merge in the Air Sign Libra seeking balance and harmony with self and with others. Mercury (Communication) has just completed moving out of retrograde which may release some of the inner and outer conflict that many seem to be experiencing on a profound level recently. Jupiter (Faith) is also transiting Libra which means we are dealing with huge issues that reflect what is truly fair and just while the media continues to test our faith with biased and contradicting information. This is also the New Moon of the Sacred Union between any inharmonious energy dynamics. Each of us are faced with moments in which we need to assess opposing forces in our lives and to weigh them upon the scales of Balance and Justice. Tonight there is a rare celestial show when the Earth shadows the light of the sun upon the moon resulting in a Total Lunar Eclipse which will be visible in most of Western North America. It will begin around 3:30 am and be completely shadowed by the Earth at 5:07 am PDT. I always interpret the Eclipse as a reminder not to block another’s light…or allow others to eclipse my own. Also referred to as the Blood moon due to the colour of the moon during the eclipse. To the ancients this was perceived as a omen. Even modern day apocolyptic types see this as the End. Well…now you see it…now you don’t…the eclipse will only have a personal affect upon someone who is attempting conscious reflection about the personal symbolism that the Eclipse represents to the individual. On a grander scale it can affect the weather.

Welcome the first full moon of Spring!

The current Lunation Cycle began with a New Moon in Pisces…affecting the deeper senses within each of us. This has been a month of watery emotions with a stellium of planets in sensitive Pisces. The Sun (motivation) Mercury (Communication) and Uranus (Humanity) are still in fiery Aries. Collectively, there has been a tremendous amount of unrest within Gaia and within us. New Moon in Libra

October 4, 2013  5:37 pm  PDT

The Sun and the Moon merge in the Air Sign Libra seeking balance and harmony with self and with others. This is also the New Moon of the Sacred Union between any inharmonious energy dynamics that require our attention. We all are faced with moments in which we need to assess opposing forces in our lives and to weigh them upon the scales of Balance and Justice. Energy is ebb and flow. If the scales were completely still, they would in essence become stagnant, boring and without motion.

Partnerships of all types are affected here so pay special attention when dealing with business partnerships or engaging in any contracts of great importance or value in the next coming weeks due to Mercury going retrograde just prior to the full moon.

Libra marks the first day of Autumn in the Northern Hemisphere. As the cool weather draws near and the nights grow longer, many people want to nest with a companion.
